Palma

Playa de Palma

Playa de Palma is used to describe a wide sandy beach of more than 4 kilometers in length and includes the municipalities of Palma and Llucmajor, the latter also known as the Arenal. Playa de Palma beach is one of the most visited by tourists who come to Mallorca to spend their holidays. With it’s wide range of shops a night life, it makes it a unique destination in the heart of the Mediterranean.

The nearness of the capital allows visitors  access to it’s cultural activities as well as sports events, shows, guided visits, excursions in Palma itself or anywhere else an the island. Coves del Drach

One of the most famous visits in Mallorca is the Coves del Drach (literally “Dragon Caves”) in Porto Cristo, within the municipality of Manacor. These caves where discovered in 1898 and today, many people visit them thanks to its multilingual routes, which are one hour long.

Cuevas de Artà

Cuevas dels Hams

The Coves dels Hams (literally “Fishhook Caves”) were discovered in 1905. On the 2nd of March of that same year, the speleologist and tourism pioneer, Pedro Caldentey Santandreu, discovered these caves close to Porto Cristo, on the east coast of Mallorca, while he was looking for onyx stones.

Valldemossa

The main attraction in Valldemossa is the Royal Charterhouse, in which Chopin and George Sand lived between 1838 and 1839. The couple travelled from Barcelona to Mallorca in order to find a milder climate, so that Chopin could improve his health condition. Once in Mallorca, it was confirmed that Chopin suffered from tuberculosis. During their stay on the island, George Sand wrote a book about their experiences (“A Winter in Mallorca”).

Sóller
